Elizabeth said she would like BLTs for dinner. This is kind of misleading - in all the times I've made them, I've never once added tomato, unless we count the time I used Sir Kensington's. (Which I don't.) There is nothing wrong with a bacon and lettuce sandwich, but I was thinking it could use something else. And then I noticed a package of Trader Joe's pancetta in the fridge.
It's not against the rules to double up on bacon, is it?
So I sauteed the pancetta and set it aside, then cooked the bacon, and placed them both on white bread with mayo and lettuce.
It was, obviously, fantastic.
Justin, this is why you are my favourite blogger.

'Scuse me, off to consume abnormal amounts of bacon.
Emily, will you kindly say the following words out loud for us?:
ReplyDeleteSchedule
Vitamin
Margarine
Quinine
after the bacon, that is,
Thank you!
Haha!
ReplyDeleteNow you say:
Oregano
Aluminium
Mandatory
Hang on, how do YOU say margarine?
Well, let's see...MAR-jer-in
ReplyDeleteDid you know tha aluminum spelled backwards is "munimula", the planet from whence came the 10 foot tall metal munching mice! (A Rocky and Bullwinkle reference from the 60's!)
Oh, I guess we spell that one differently as well!
ReplyDeleteIt's a good thing they weren't English. Muinimula isn't nearly so catchy.
