Popeye's is definitely the spicy fried chicken with the red beans and biscuits not far behind.
KFC - fried chicken
KFC chicken nuggets. Haven't seen them since I was a kid but I miss them.
Never had Popeyes because there ins't one for 60 miles.
The best thing I've ever had from KFC was there chicken strips. I don't know how but we must of gotten them completely fresh because they were delicious. I have ordered them since and they are never as good.
I've been a fan of KFC Original Recipe Chicken since I was a kid. I was born in a hospital next door to a KFC and my parents always joked that it was fitting that I was born so close to my beloved chicken drumsticks.

For Popeyes, I love their Spicy Chicken Breasts.
As for KFC, their Diet Coke is about all I can stand.
I usually get Popeye’s crawfish promo whenever I see it. I also liked their Rip’N chicken nonsense, but it was only good because they fried it when I placed my order. If it were just sitting in a warming bin, not a fan.
Everything at KFC seems to be under a warming lamp, so I never really go. I did have a strange craving for their hot wings one day, (odd because I’m lazy, and like boneless chicken) and they were tasty. I seem to like crispy wings more than wings tossed in sauce. This is probably just a personal problem.
I always like to get the po'boys from Popeyes. They are not the greatest out there but it is still pretty decent.
KFC- I absolutely love their biscuits with honey and butter. I also enjoy their Mac and Cheese and Mashed Potatoes and gravy. Those two things were all I could eat for a week when I got my wisdom teeth taken out.
Biscuits from either one with honey or a good spicy chicken thigh from Popeyes.
You're right on the "new" chicken littles. What a disappointment. Plus I tend to shy away from KFC anyway after they forgot about me in the drive through for 35 minutes.
From Popeye's, favorite item is the probably the biscuits, although chickenwise I'd pick the strips. I enjoy their shrimp too, but I wish they gave you more for your money.
From KFC I also enjoy their strips and biscuits, but their grilled chicken is pretty great as well.
At KFC, the cut they call the keel, which is the cut with the backbone when the breast is cut in 3 vs 2 pieces. I worked there in HS some hundred years ago, and I still love it. I also have a pretty OK Popeye's steps away from my front door.
I'd get a breast, a biscuit and some fries from Popeyes. From KFC...hmmm maybe I'd try a few of those fake chicken littles that everyone seems to hate out of pure curiosity.
Popeyes: Definitely the crawfish, when in season.
KYC: Original recipe fried chicken.
I like the chicken strips from KFC and the crawfish from Popeyes.
I've never had Popeyes, but I loove the KFC bowl, delicious!

I love Popeyes, but I completely agree with you about them never having the sauces in stock. I miss my Delta sauce!
As far as KFC, we had avoided it for years, but the kids wanted chicken nuggets a few weeks ago, and we happened to be driving by. I tried one, and they were actually really good.
I love kfc's sides like mashed potatoes and mac n cheese!

I have had Popeye's once and the spicy chicken was good. At KFC, the mac and cheese and coleslaw are my favorite.
KFC: Cole slaw :) Nostalgic reasons.

I used to love those KFC twister dealios...but you can't go wrong with the original recipe chicken! Also...THAT COLESLAW!
I've never actually tried Popeye's...but all this chatter about how good the craw daddio's make me really want to try them!
Never had Popeye's and haven't had KFC in awhile, but used to really like the popcorn chicken!
KFC by me just reopened...before, it was gross. So - would be interested in checking it out.

I'd have to try the Popeye's crawfish. At KFC, either my go-to (when I still went to KFC) original recipe 2 piece dark with potato wedges & biscuit, OR the pot pie, if it's still available.
I've never been to a Popeye's since I live in MT. I like to get an extra crispy chicken breast at KFC. Been disappointed with most everything else I've tried. Oh, I do like the cole slaw, too!

Haven't had Popeye's since I'm in central/eastern Suffolk County and the closest is in Lindenhurst. As for KFC...probably the potato wedges. One of the better fast food sides.
I don't eat there much, but I'd get the shrimp poboy from Popeyes and the Double Down from KFC.

At KFC, I am embarrassed to say that my favorite is the "KFC Bowl." There's something about slopping together mashed potatoes, corn, and fried chicken that is just completely satisfying.
For Popeyes, I've enjoyed the Spicy Tenders and the Rip'n Chick'n, but my favorite remains the plain ol' Mild Chicken Tenders.
