When I wrote about these a couple of years ago, I titled the post "A Somewhat Irrational Love Affair," because I am perfectly willing to admit that there is nothing too special about them. But I love them still. I always end up eating more than I should and they have saved me from more hangovers than anything except... well, not drinking, I guess.
I've heard stories that at the oldest Del Taco, in Barstow, they stuff these things full of chicken. While it might not be a quest on par with my plan to one day see the Midnight Sun Baseball Game or drive the entire length of the Great River Road, some day I will make it there.

I myself have a bit of a love affair with Del Taco. Del Taco is one of those places that people either love or hate, rarely anything in the middle. Chicken tacos and crinkle cut fries are a great combo.
Ha! Awesome that you mentioned the Barstow Del Taco. All the rumors and stories are true. To quote Rodney on the ROQ, "It's Godhead."
I have no idea how they do it, considering it is in the middle of the desert, but everything there tastes fresher and their portions are outrageous.
Oh yeah, those tacos are stupid good.

#5 doesn't mean what I think it means, does it?
Those are two really cool plans and I wanna do those also one day, along with driving the pacific coast. Loved driving from New York to South Florida, discovered Cracker Barrell that way!
Any chance you'd be willing to manage the Angels this season?
Well since Pujols is already there, I say why not!
Fun fact: LaRussa got a DUI 2 blocks from my house! I live near rodger dean standium where the cardinals and marlins do spring training in Jupiter, Florida
Scioscialism is slowly killing the Halos.
Fun fact, Torii Hunter was signed at the Del Taco between the 91 fwy and 71.

Eventually Arte will realize that he can't keep paying these top-5 payrolls while simultaneously letting Mike insist on micromanaging every game with I-must-leave-an-imprint-on-this-game megalomania.
At some point, there has to be an acknowledgement that there is one common factor in these horrific starts to the season that have doomed the Angels the last three seasons and is on its way to doing it this year.
"You have sat too long here for any good you have been doing. Depart, I say and let us have done with you. In the name of God, Go!”
@ Justin...
Yep... You nailed it on the head; the one common factor is Mike. It seems that he has not evolved at all.
He is running a tight ship; while it is sinking.
Man, thanks again for this blog... It is awesome. Bummed that I found it after you left So. Cal.
Already have used a couple of your recipe's with success. The Onion Rings were tits!

You change with the times or the times change you. Mike is in his 14th year at the helm. I just don't think one can stay with a pro team for that length of time. You lose your edge. You make ridiculous moves (like his pitching moves last night).
Jesus, Joe Torre was only with the Yankees 12 years before he walked away, and he had a hell of a lot more success than Sosh.
I don't hate him, and I certainly appreciate the success from '02-'09, but it's time to move on. Nothing has changed the last four years: no fire out of the gate, playing favorites, questionable on-field decisions. Hence the Cromwell quote. Mike's been here too long for the good he has done.
Love these.
